5.2 LwM2M is closer to device-object and lifecycle-operation consistency

5.3 The platform layer is what combines network, config, and operations into one control plane
The real value of a global IoT platform is not to duplicate a carrier-management console. It is to connect technical actions to business operating logic:
- which customers, regions, and device groups are affected by a profile change
- whether business configuration changes must move with the network change
- which failures demand rollback versus degraded operation
Without this platform layer, SGP.32 and LwM2M can still remain isolated toolchains.
6. When lifecycle control deserves priority, and when it does not
6.1 Strong fit scenarios
- the fleet will run across several countries or carriers
- the same product line must support several SKUs, tenants, or regulatory profiles
- the device base will scale and needs remote updates, parameter control, and staged rollout
- field maintenance is expensive, so the platform must close the loop remotely
6.2 Cases where a lighter approach may be enough at first
- one country, one carrier, and relatively stable compliance requirements
